
Unity College, department of commerce organised a “wellness webinar” on the theme “yoga for physical and mental wellness” on August 21. The main purpose of the webinar was to emphasise on the importance and practice of yoga for one’s physical and mental wellbeing.
In a press release, HoD, department of commerce, Dr. Tongpangkumla informed that the session was chaired by assistant professor, department commerce, Yangmoo Lama.
The key resource person assistant professor, department of commerce, Vandana Ladha, who is also a certified yoga instructor, stressed on the twelve asanas of yoga with an audio-visual demonstration coupled with an explication of each asanas form and nature.
Vandana also opined that yoga brought physical and mental discipline together to achieve a peaceful body and mind; helped manage stress and anxiety, increased flexibility and vitality.
Altogether, 86 participants attended the webinar.
SJU: St. Joseph University (SJU), department of civil engineering conducted a webinar on “ground improvement technique in geotechnical engineering” on August 21.
In a press release, SJU informed that resource person, assistant professor, department of civil engineering, North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST), Arunachal Pradesh, Dr. Ajanta Kalita highlighted important techniques involved in ground improvement objectives, improvement of cohesion and cohesion less soil, etc.
Earlier, the webinar was chaired by Renathung Y Ngullie, invocation was said by Santiyagu A and welcome address was delivered by Tiamongla.
