The Ukha Village Council (UVC) on Saturday disclosed that over 200 cattle have succumbed to an unknown disease since April 2023. Lamenting the significant losses incurred by local cattle breeders, UVC chairman L. Kaiyong Konyak in a press note highlighted the ongoing devastation caused by the outbreak. Despite efforts from the Veterinary department to address the situation by administering medical aid, Kaiyong expressed dismay over the lack of positive outcomes.
The relentless spread of the disease has persisted unabated, resulting in continued losses. The precise cause of the disease remains unidentified, leaving both authorities and local communities perplexed and concerned about the escalating crisis.
