Discovery a stone-sculpted face on Saturday from a place called ‘Yimsen Tsüba’ in Mokokchung village, has set rumour mills working overtime on its origin and significance . The stone-sculpted face was found buried deep inside the earth till a landslide few days ago, brought it in the open.
Villagers on Friday discovered a strange and mysterious object from the landslide affected area which later, turned out to be a stone-sculpted face. The object, weighing around 16.1 kilograms was seen by hundreds of people Saturday and appeared to be quite ancient.
However, all presumptions about the origin and significance of the sculpted-face would be set at rest only through archaeological examination .
The face on the stone had well chiseled eyes, ears nose, mouth and intricate designs on the head, stretching to the back.However, the shape of the head appeared quite abnormal to human head. This has led to speculations that the head was in fact, sculpted in the image of aliens, a popular depiction in Hollywood movies.
Meanwhile, the sculpted object has been kept under the care of the villagers of Mokokchung village even as scores of people,driven by curiosity, continue to pour in, for a glimpse of the mysterious object.
