UPHC Burma Camp and Duncan Bosti earn NQAS certification for second time

DIMAPUR

In a significant achievement for Dimapur District Health Department, two Urban Primary Health Centres (UPHCs), Burma Camp and Duncan Bosti, have successfully earned National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certification for the second time on June 2.
A press release by CMO Office Dimapur stated that the remarkable feat underscored the dedication and hard work of healthcare staff, medical officers, Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs), Hospital Management Committee (HCMC) members, and other stakeholders.
The assessments were conducted by external assessors, Dr. Utkrasht Prajapati and Dr. Bimlesh Kumar for UPHC Burma Camp on June 2 and 3, and Dr. Cecil Ahongshangbam and Stephanie P for UPHC Duncan Bosti on June 9 and 10. Both facilities demonstrated exceptional commitment to quality healthcare services, meeting the stringent standards set by the NQAS.
These accomplishments were a testament to the team’s unwavering dedication of all staff under UPHCs, Medical Officers, ASHAs, HCMC members, and continuous hand-holding support from the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. T. Temsu Lkr, State NQAS team, District Vertical Programme Officers, NUHM Dimapur Consultant, and District Quality Manager (DQM) Dimapur,
The NQAS certification is a significant milestone, as it ensures that healthcare facilities adhere to national standards for quality, safety and patient satisfaction. This certification is a huge accomplishment because it not only enhances credibility of healthcare facilities but also assures patients of quality of care they receive.
As recognition of their achievements, the certified UPHCs would receive citations and monetary incentives for next three years.
This accomplishment serves as a motivation for other health units in the district to strive for NQAS certification.
The Dimapur District Health Department further congratulated UPHC Burma Camp and UPHC Duncan on this outstanding achievement and encouraged other healthcare facilities to follow suit. By pursuing NQAS certification, healthcare units can demonstrate their commitment to delivering high-quality services, ultimately improving the health and well-being of the community.
