Upper Khomi gets new community Hall

Newly constructed Community Hall, Upper Khomi under Phek district was inaugurated on February 13 with Commissioner & Secretary, RD, Neposo Theluo, as special guest.

According to DIPR report, Commissioner & secretary, Rural Development, Neposo Theluo called upon the villagers to be self-sufficient through agricultural activities and requested upcoming leaders to be ready with a master plan for village development.

He also stressed on the importance of bio-diversity and urged the villagers advocate for massive tree plantation every year. 

VCC, Upper Khomi, Husucho Nienu in his welcome address stated that the construction started in 2016 and completed in December 2020.

During a brief building report, VDB Secretary, Kuveyi Huzhuin informed that the two-storey building was constructed out of 176 job cards under the flag program of MGNREGA. He also informed that an approximate amount of Rs.65 lakhs was spent for the construction of the Community hall.

BDO, Phek Kuhucuyi D Vadeo called upon the villagers to unite, as development came through cooperation and encouraged them to appreciate the village leaders for their hard work and strong determination for the success of the programme. 

Encouraging village community to preserve flora & fauna, DC Phek, Razouvolie Dozo informed that total ban of hunting and burning of jungles would be issued by the Administration at the earliest.
