
The retreat-cum-multipurpose project office of the United Sangtam Baptist Lithroti Ashimukhung (USBLA) was dedicated by executive secretary USBLA, Rev.C.Lima Sangtam at Arenthru, Tethuyo, Tuesday.
Rev. C. Lima Sangtam dedicated the retreat centre-cum-Agri & allied co-operative society at Arenthru, Tethuyo 30 Km away from the district Hq Kiphire in presence of the USBLA staff and well wishers.
Rev.C. Lima Sangtam while dedicating said that this would be the resource centre for people of the district and thus appealed all to make use of the centre to the maximum benefit for the progress of society.
Executive secretary said that the USBLA was in need of collective knowledge for better construction as it was just a beginning stage.
He also asked the well wishers to give inputs and ideas so that the centre becomes a prosperous place for people in and around. Rev. C. Lima also dedicated the retreat centre building and said that Christ was the foundation of the building and the centre.
At present, programme such as piggery, plantation, fishery facilities were in the retreat centre and more developments were expected to come up.
Secretary USBLA sub centre Kiphire, Rev T. Tsangkhuchu highlighted the details of ongoing project and said that the USBLA would be coming up with more projects.
However, he said that public assistance was very much needed for its functioning. He said that 5 acres of land had been generously contributed by Tethuyo village and said that if needed the villagers had assured to donate more land.
Development secretary USBLA Tsiri Sangtam, chairman Mission Compound Ward Kiphire Yanglizi Sangtam and Alemla spoke on the occasion.
The programme was chaired by development secretary Setong.
It may be mentioned that Arenthru is located under Tutheyo village some 30 kms away from Kiphire and the only centre where seminars and training could be conducted. It has play ground and training hall and guest rooms. The monolith of the retreat centre was laid by minister of Power, C.Kipili Sangtam in the year 2014.
