As per the directive of ENPO, the United Sangtam Likhum Pumji (USLP) boycotted the election process for Longkhim Town Council on Wednesday.
Hundreds of volunteers gathered at Longkhim town and restricted citizens from casting votes in nine wards. No untoward incident was reported.
Meanwhile, USLP president, Yonghopi Sangtam acknowledged the volunteers for rendering their service in boycotting the election.
In Pungro, according to ADC, the polling was successfully conducted in all the seven wards.
Out of the nine wards two were unopposed. The polling was conducted without any untoward incidents, said ADC.
Though there was no bandh in Kiphire, USLP and Kiphire District Joint Coordination Committee kept strict vigil in the town areas.
In Tuensang town, the 12-hour bandh imposed by Chang Tribal Council (CKS) ended at 6 pm on Wednesday. All offices and business establishment remained close for the day.
No untoward incident was reported.
