The United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) held its 71st official handing and taking over program at its Conference Hall in Kiphire on February 20. The newly elected officials for the next tenure will be led by Sepikyu J. Sangtam as president, Samuel – vice president, Selicho – general secretary, Tsingose – AGS, Thronglichum – executive chairman and Rothrongki as executive secretary.
Sepikyu J. Sangtam, in his speech, congratulated the newly elected USSC officials. Although the USSC duties are heavy, he was optimistic that with the new enthusiastic officials, work load would become lighter. He further appealed to the newly inducted to discharge their duties with dedication and sincerity for the benefit of the community.
Tsaseto Sangtam, former finance secretary, speaking on behalf of the outgoing officials, thanked everyone for the support rendered throughout their tenure. He also conveyed their best wishes to the new team.
Rothongki, also spoke on behalf of the newly elected officials. He appealed to the USSC team to operate in oneness so that they may discharge their duties with better coordination.
The program was chaired by Denial Sechopi and Yopi Sangtam.
It may be mentioned that the USSC is the apex student organization of the Sangtam tribe covering Longkhim-Chare Area under Tuensang district, Kiphire district and Sangtam villages under Dimapur district. Among Sangtam organizations, USSC is the oldest.
