United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC), which had earlier demanded the internet service providers (ISPs) to improve internet connectivity within its jurisdiction, Friday announced that Jio/Airtel offices in Kiphire would remain shut with effect from February 6, 2021 until the quality network connectivity was restored as per consumers’ demand.
In a letter addressed to the central manager Jio/Airtel, USSC vice president Sethrongba Y Yingbithongrü and press secretary Thsapongse Sangtam stated that despite ultimatum served on January 17, 2021 to improve poor connectivity within the district, the network still remained pathetic.
USSC has cautioned the ISPs that failure to adhere to its directive, the conference would initiate its own course of action and the concerned authorities would be held solely responsible in the event of any eventualities. USSC has appealed to all the citizens to cooperate and bear with the inconveniences till the issue was resolved.
