V-Guard Industries Ltd, on Wednesday, donated an ambulance to government-run Naga Hospital, Kohima (Naga Hospital Authority Kohima –NHAK) as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
Speaking at the handing over ceremony, branch in charge (NE-states), Nilotpal Bhattacharjee said that as a part of its 40th anniversary celebrations, the company has gifted 40 ambulances across India to NGOs and government hospitals.
He added that the North East states have received six ambulances (two each in Assam and Sikkim, and one each in Meghalaya and Nagaland).
He said the Corporate Social Responsibility initiative attempts to reach out to underprivileged people, and he expressed hope that the hospital authorities would make best use of the ambulance for needy patients.
Managing director, Naga Hospital Authority, Kohima (NHAK), Dr. Thorhusie Katiry, expressed gratitude to the company for donating the ambulance to the hospital.
Mentioning that the district hospital has only a ten-year-old ambulance, he said the new ambulance will provide quick medical access to citizens in need.
V-Guard distributors and dealers from Kohima were also present in the program.
V-Guard Industries Limited, an electronic goods company, is based in Kerala and has branches all over the country.
According to data, V-Guard services its customers through over 500 distributors, 3000 direct dealers, and more than 20000 retailers and service centres spread across the 29 states of India.
