Vaccination-cum-animal health camp at Saijang

College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, CAU (I), Jalukie conducted a free vaccination-cum-animal health camp and awareness programme at council hall, Saijang village on February 17. The event was conducted under the guidance and leadership of Dr I. Shakuntala, the Dean of the Veterinary College, Jalukie and funded by ICAR-National Research Centre on Equines, Hisar, Haryana.


As a part of the programme, farmer-scientist-interaction was also held which was followed by free vaccination cum animal health camp. In the technical session, Dr Gunjan Das Prof. & Head, Dr. Tukheswar Chutia, Assistant Professor and Dr Sashitola Ozukum, Assistant Professor delivered lectures on the topics “Important Diseases of Cattle and their management”, “Management of important post-partum Diseases of Pigs” and “Important Diseases of Poultry and their management” respectively.


Altogether 56 participants (43 farmers and 13 officials) attended the program. Apart from consultation services, mineral mixtures, deworming drugs, antibiotics and other veterinary medicines were distributed to the farmers covering a total of 196 Livestock including poultry.


All together 43 dogs were vaccinated during the camp. Earlier, Dr Keneisezo Kuotsu, Assistant Professor, CoVSc, Jalukie chaired the programme and Dr Gunjan Das Prof. & Head welcome the farmers and informed them about the importance of the camp.
