
The monthly District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meetings were held in Mokokchung, Wokha, Tuensang, Longleng and Peren.
Mokokchung: Mokokchung DPDB meeting for the month of October and November was held on November 8 in the conference hall of the ADC planning. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Minister, PWD (housing and mechanical) and chairman DPDB Mokokchung, Tongpang Ozukum.
According to a DIPR report, on the proposal of youth hostel at Mokokchung, the chairman stated that he personally met the responsible minister and submitted a representation on the project on which he asked the house to wait from the responsible department for continuation of the project work.
Ozukum said that the land owner of Kendriya Vidyalaya School, Tuli was willing to give the land free of cost for the establishment of the school to continue and said that the school should not be closed down.
The house deliberated on the construction of pedestrian footbridge for main junction, Mokokchung municipal council dumping site, Mokokchung highway by-pass road and purchase of medical equipment for combating Covid-19 in the district.
The house accepted the translated documents of Village Councils Act Nagaland submitted by the select committee for approval.
After deliberation, the house approved the registration of society (soul care) Chami village-reg society for care and support to orphan children.
New board member, district agricultural officer Mokokchung, B. Imti Tzudir was introduced to the house.
Certificate and cash to winners of the essay competition organised by Raj Bhavan on Gandhi Jayanti 2021 were also awarded at the meeting.
Wokha: Wokha DPDB meeting was held in the conference hall of the DC with vice chairman DPDB & DC, Wokha Orenthung Lotha as the chairman.
In the meeting, the department of rural development, district executive force (police), irrigation/water resource presented their departmental activities.
Advisor for IT, science & technology and NRE, Mmhonlumo Kikon said that the main focus on the implementation of government projects, schemes and its activities was to up lift the economic status of the common people.
He urged the department to implement such activities in convergence with other line department to avoid duplication of works.
While selecting the projects he urged the responsible department to select the location on priority basis so that the particular project boost economic viability of the concerned area.
He assured the departments that the board would extend full cooperation for successful implementation of projects and schemes for the benefit of the people.
Advisor, horticulture & border affairs, Mhathung Yanthan encouraged the department to be actively involved in any developmental activities.
New member of the board, ACF (forest) Wokha, Siechutho Katiry was also introduced in the meeting.
Tuensang: In Tuensang, the DPDB meeting was held in the conference hall of the DC under the chairmanship of DC & vice chairman DPDB, Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant.
The members discussed the agenda of YTC for transferring of Sotokur EAC HQ from Tuensang Sadar to ADC Shamator.
YTC president highlighted the reason behind proposal to the house and that the main objective of the proposal was for the administrative convenience to which the representative of the CKS also commented on the agreement for the proposal.
The house agreed to forward the proposal for approval.
Proposal for allocation of funds for repairing of EAC Longkhim quarter was also discussed and was sent for approval.
The vaccination status of Tuensang district under bottom 41 in the country was discussed and the remedial drive to pull out from the bottom 41 list was deliberated. The house decided for extensive vaccination and awareness drive in rural areas which would be headed by HoDs of the district. Tuensang town would also install a 24×7 vaccination center.
The members decided to conduct a departmental sports week for which SDO(C) Sadar, Shelly Katiry would be convener while the dates and details would be updated in the DPDB group forum. Departmental activities was highlighted by the PHE department through a PowerPoint presentation.
Longleng: Longleng DPDB meeting was held under the chairmanship of DC and vice chairman DPDB, Longleng, M. Shayung Phom in the DPDB conference hall.
The board after brief deliberation recommended agenda proposed by various organisations and agencies such as upgradation of Government Middle School Tangha to Government High School, application of Tamlu Village Students Union (TVSU) & Yongphang Students’ Union (YSU) for registration of society under Societies Registration Act, upgradation of SDO (power) Longleng to executive engineer and approval of verification/implementing committee for LADP 2021 – 2022 under 49 A/C Tamlu and 50 A/C Longleng.
Implementing committees were constituted for LADP with ADC Tamlu as convenor, DAO Longleng and BDO Tamlu as members for 49 A/C Tamlu, where for 50 A/C Longleng, ADC HQ as convenor with DHO Longleng and BDO Sakshi as its members.
The house deliberated on poor internet connectivity in the district for smooth functioning and implementation of eNPS and ePay bill system for government employees. In this regard, DC appealed HoDs to arrange alternative internet connectivity so that salary of employees was not delayed.
ADC Longleng, D. Robin reiterated to submit annual membership fee of Rs. 1000 for officers’ club of Longleng and Rs. 3000 for new members for both registration and membership fees. He informed that Officers’ Club Longleng would be organising badminton and carom inter-departmental tournament on November 29 and 30 at Longleng.
SDO (power) Longleng presented activities of the department through PowerPoint presentation, appraised the house on the grievance faced by department and highlighted various reasons for frequent power disruption in the district and submitted representation for up gradation of SDO (power) to executive engineer to redress the problems.
DC directed PHED department to present activities of the department in the next meeting.
Peren: Peren DPDB meeting was held at Baudi hall, Jalukie Town under the chairmanship of DC Peren and DPDB vice-chairman, Sentiwapang Aier.
Peren District Legal Service Authority (PDLSA) secretary, BP Resu apprised board members about mega camp which was scheduled to be held on November 13 at Jalukie town along with various departments under Peren district during pan India legal awareness and outreach campaign.
He requested DC Peren to issue circular to various departments.
Meanwhile, winners were also felicitated for securing first and second position in the Peren district level essay competition. Schools under Peren with 100% pass percentage, subject toppers in HSLC as well as HSSLC were also felicitated in the meeting.
Earlier, district immunization officer, Dr. Kiholi highlighted detailed COVID vaccination status and its action plan of district, while director, pro rural society, Paul Lokho highlighted action plan to combat COVID-19 in collaboration with DTF and SDTF in the district.
State project manager, John Snow Inc (JSI), Egumsing Nsarangbe also spoke during the meeting.
On requirement of man power during vaccination drive, the house entrusted Zeliangrong Students Union, Nagaland to assist the medical department in block wise.
