As part of academic and extracurricular activities, educational institutions and other organisations and departments conducted various programmes for the students, teaching and non-teaching staff.
LFIC: Livingstone Foundation International College (LFIC) concluded its National Service Scheme (NSS) special camp on March 2, at its adopted village, Murise.
NECU: North East Christian University (NECU) celebrated its 7th Foundation Day on March 1 with Commissioner and Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department, Kekhrievor Kevichusa, as the chief guest.
PGC: Phek Government College (PGC) alumni association conducted a career talk on the topic, “orientation on higher studies” on March 2 at the College Conference Hall for the students of BA and BSc final year students with Rashtriya Raksha University, Arunachal Pradesh, assistant professor, Dr. Muluvesalu Keyho, as the resource person.
PCC: Patkai Christian College celebrated “National Science Day”, with a special event centred around the theme, “Science for a Sustainable Future” on February 28 at the College Premises, with assistant professor, department of civil engineering, NIT Chümoukedima, Nagaland Dr. Nzanthung Ngullie as the guest speaker.
ICFAI University: Department of English of ICFAI University organized a talk on “the importance of soft skills” on February 28 at the College Auditorium, with the controller of examinations, ICFAI University, Nagaland Dr. Azono Khatso.
In separate events, the department of library and information science at ICFAI University Nagaland hosted a webinar on the topic, “Research Ethics” on February 27 with assistant professor, department of library and information science at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University in Lucknow, Dr. Somipam R. Shimray, as the guest speaker. The history department of the university also organised photography and extempore speech competition on the themes, “A Glimpse into Our World” and “Inspire People with Your Art” on February 29.
IGNOU: Indira Gandhi National Open University, Regional Centre, Kohima conducted a meeting of the coordinators and programmes-in-charge of the Learner Support Centres (LSCs) under its jurisdiction on February 27 at Hotel Japfü, Kohima, with former regional director R.C., Kohima, Dr. T. Iralu as the special guest.
