Various trainings conducted for farmers

ATMA Kubulong block conducted a training programme on the topic “scientific management of FAW in maize production” at Yimchalu village, Mokokchung on May 22 with resource person A.O & BTT convenor, Kajenchila Longchar. 

A press release by ATMA Kubulong block stated that the resource person stressed on metamorphosis and life cycle of FAW worms and management of FAW in maize production. A demonstration was also conducted on the topic “cultivation of oyster mushroom production”.

Printed leaflets, spawn of oyster mushroom, bio-control pesticides were distributed to beneficiaries. Altogether, 25 farmers attended the training and demonstration programme.

Meanwhile, two-day online training on “promotion of integrated farming system in agri. and allied sectors” for ATMA functionaries was organised by State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) from May 27-28. The training was aimed at imparting technical knowledge on integrated farming system. 

Resource persons for the training were Dr. Lohit K Baishya, PhD, Post Doc (IARI), LLB, principal scientist (agronomy) ICAR , Nagaland Centre and Dr. A. Sarkar, asst. professor, department of horticulture, NU: SASRD, Medziphema. Altogether, 22 participants from different districts attended the training.
