Vax drive, health camp conducted in villages

Bhandari Block Task Force (BTF) on COVID-19 carried out a vaccination drive-cum-health camp at inter-state border villages Mongphio and Lishuyo in Wokha district on August 8. 

According to a DIPR report, during the programme, ADC Bhandari, Tiameren Chang explained the importance and the benefits of the COVID-19 vaccine and said that every eligible individual of 18 years and above should avail the opportunity to secure health and safety.

He urged the gathering not to believe in rumors being circulated on social media. 

The ADC assured that COVID-19 vaccine had no side effects and was just like any other vaccines for diseases such as measles, chickenpox and rubella.

He also said that the government officials and frontline workers were the first vaccine beneficiaries who have been working tirelessly for the society.

House sealed in Peren: ADC Jalukie, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang has notified that in view of the detection and confirmation of COVID-19 positive case and in the larger interest of public health and safety, house no. 192 at New Market Colony and house no. 121 at Kedime Colony, Ward 5 have been sealed with immediate effect until further order.

ADC has informed that any person violating the order would be liable to be prosecuted as per the provisions of Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 besides legal action under IPC Section-188.
