Vax drive, sensitisation prog in Mkg, Wokha

Mokokchung District Task Force (DTF) on COVID-19 organised a sensitisation programme on COVID-19 vaccination for all unvaccinated government employees at Mokokchung on July 27 at town hall, Mokokchung.

According to a DIPR report, while delivering the keynote address, deputy commissioner, Mokokchung, Limawapang Jamir said that the objective in organising the programme was not to force anyone to get vaccinated but to have interactions to clear the minds of the people had there been any problems or doubts that held them back. 

Resource person of the programme, Dr. Yanger explained the importance and advantage of getting vaccinated.

Dr. Yanger also said the only solution to combat the incoming third wave was to get every eligible individual to get vaccinated.

He pointed out that vaccines were proving to be efficient against hospitalisation and death and disclosed that most COVID-19 deaths in the district were those unvaccinated.

After the programme, 26 people were vaccinated under the supervision of DIO Mokokchung, Dr. Ayangla Saku and Dr. Yanger. The programme was chaired by SDO (C) Mokokchung, Sentilong Ozukum.

Meanwhile at Wokha, Bhandari, Community Health Center (CHC) Bhandari conducted a vaccination drive-cum-health camp at Akahaiqa village and Sumito village on July 24 for 18 years and above. 

According to a DIPR report, during the event, 76 beneficiaries from Akahaiqa village and 36 beneficiaries from Sumito village were vaccinated. Meanwhile at the health camp, more than 90 patients were treated.

At Ruchan village, 185 beneficiaries were vaccinated and 21 patients were treated on July 25. 

The CHC Bhandari medical team was led by SMO, Dr. Caroline, Dr .Chundemo Ngullie, Dr. Renathung and Dr. Lydia.
