VC admits unrest in NU

Nagaland University vice chancellor Prof. K Kannan has admitted that he was fully aware of the grievous situation that the students were plunged into because of the unrest in the university. The vice chancellor in a letter to president, PGSUK, said “I am fully aware of the grievous situation that the students are plunged into because of the unrest in the university.” Kannan appreciated the written communication given by PGSUK and assured the students that all efforts would be made to restore discipline and normalcy in the University for the sake of the students. “The university shall have no purpose if it cannot serve the students and I shall not allow anyone to hold my students at ransom,” the letter stated.
Kannan also said he had learnt that the president and the general secretary, PGSUK, had a fruitful discourse with the Registrar and other officers of the university for restoring normalcy in the hostels, and hoped the efforts to resume classes for the students would materialize soon. He further requested the students not to do any thing that might aggravate the situation in the university.
