VC Peducha and Mez & Co clinch titles at 3rd Nagaland Inter-Open Volleyball Tournament

Volleyball Club (VC) Peducha and Mez & Co, Kohima, emerged champions in the men’s and women’s categories respectively at the 3rd Nagaland Inter-Open Volleyball Tournament, held at Kezo Town local ground on January 14.
Organised by BKK Kezo Town under Kohima district, the two-day tournament witnessed participation from 26 teams—17 men’s teams and nine women’s teams.
In the men’s category, VC Peducha lifted the champion’s trophy along with a cash prize of INR 50,000. The runners-up, Chienino Brothers from Kiruphema, received INR 30,000. Semi-finalists BKK Kezo Town and Tama Youth Society were also awarded cash prizes. Individual honours went to Sedzievilie Suohumvü (Best Setter) and Kepelhoukho Vielie (Best Spiker), both from VC Peducha.
In the women’s category, Mez & Co, Kohima, claimed the champion title and a cash prize of INR 50,000, while Kidima Youth Organisation finished runners-up with INR 30,000. Phesama Youth Organisation and Musketeers VC, Pfütsero, were the semi-finalists and also received cash awards. Linovi Awomi was adjudged Best Setter, while Nilivi Achumi was named Best Spiker, both representing Mez & Co.
The closing ceremony was graced by District Project Officer, Land Resources Department, Government of Nagaland and president of the Southern Angami Gazetted Officers’ Krotho (SAGOK), Tepunol Yore as valedictory guest. He congratulated the winners and lauded BKK Kezo Town for providing a platform to athletes, while also distributing prizes.
Earlier, the semi-final matches were attended by match patrons including entrepreneur and NPF Central Youth Wing general secretary Kethoshe Chuzho, entrepreneur Kelhousilie Rutsa, EAC Kezocha Limakumla Pongener, and NPWD Legal Officer Zakivole Visa.
The valedictory programme was chaired by Pastor of Victory Church of All Nations Kohima, Mhalevilie Yongo, with the vote of thanks and benediction offered by pastor of Koinonia Prayer Centre (KPC), H. Rokopra Mekro.
