The year-long golden jubilee celebration of Vivela Club Kohima (VCK), a premier Club of the Gorkha Community of Kohima, kicked off on March 9 at Gorkha Public Panchayat hall, Chandmari Kohima.
The event was graced by Nobin Pradhan, president Nagaland Gorkha Association (NGA) and Ranjeet Lama, advisor, Gorkha Public Panchayat Kohima (GPPK) as special guest and guest of honour respectively.
The program began with the Deep Prajwalan (Lighting of the Lamp) to invoke God’s blessing and welcome song by the members of the Club. On the occasion, the club logo which was designed by Prem Pradhan was unveiled by the special guest and guest of honour.
In his speech, Nobin Pradhan highlighted the contribution of the Club members in all activities of the Gorkha Community of Kohima, helping the Community to grow and achieve greater height. He congratulated the Club members and encouraged them to consistently working together to achieve more success.
While, Ranjeet Lama, narrated his fond memories of late 70’s when he was also associated Club and congratulated the Club for preparing to celebrate yearlong Golden Jubilee programmes.
Significance of the logo was highlighted by C. K.Lama, founding president while Satish Lama enthralled the gathering with his special number and welcome speech was delivered by Bikash Lama, president of the Club.
