Newly constructed Village Development Board Association Pughoboto conference hall-cum-office building under Rural Development block, Ghathashi Pughoboto was inaugurated by Y. Vikheho Swu, MLA on November 18.
Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, Swu lauded the efforts of the association in successfully constructing the building to house different offices and conference hall.
Swu said that “a strong VDB would ensure all round development and economic uplift of the village,” and called on the people of the area to avail the benefit of the schemes with central and state government.
Swu added that VDBs should maintain transparency and accountability of funds received from government towards successful implementation of various government schemes for welfare of the villages.
He also appealed the VDBs in Pughoboto sub-division to work in cohesion for the economic and social transformation of the area.
Delivering a short speech, ADC Pughoboto Avelu Ruho urged the village leaders present to utilise the VDB fund judiciously for the development of the respective area. She said that proposal to setup SBI branch in the sub-division was under active consideration of the bank authorities and likely to be approved soon.
Short speeches were also delivered by BDO Ghathashi Obed Achumi, president Aphuyemi Sumi Hoho Inavi Swu and SAKK president Khkuto V. Achumi.
The programme chaired by vice president VDBA Pughoboto Vihokhu Swu commenced with invocation by pastor of Mishilimi Baptist Church Tovishe Shohe. Presidential address was delivered by Vikato M. Swu. Special number was presented by Atto Achumi, vote of thanks tendered by vice president VDBA Pughoboto Boska Swu and benediction by pastor NCRC Pughoboto Kanito Sheqi
