DIMAPUR, SEP 11 (NPN): Power department has announced scheduled power shutdowns in parts of Kohima and surrounding areas from September 14 to October 1 to facilitate vegetation clearance and maintenance of 33kV transmission lines.
According to Transmission Division Kohima executive engineer Namheu Khate Zeliang, shutdowns will be carried out from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on scheduled days.
On September 14, NU Meriema, IG Stadium and Thizama will be affected. On September 15, the shutdown will cover parts of Kohima village, Rusoma, Chedema, Lerie colony and parts of Southern Angami. Lerie colony and parts of Southern Angami will face shutdowns on September 16. Lalmati, Zubza and Duilumroi small hydel project (SHP) will be affected on September 17-18, with Lalmati and Zubza again affected on September 19. Duilumroi SHP will face shutdowns on September 21-22.
Parts of Southern Angami and Chozouba will be affected on September 23-24, followed by parts of Northern Angami on September 25.
Chiethu, Botsa and Poghuboto will face shutdowns on September 26-28, while Zhadima will be affected from September 29 to October 1.
Power outage in Wokha, Tseminyu
Power department has informed that power supply to Wokha and Tseminyu districts have been affected to station equipment failure at 132/33kV Wokha sub-station and 132/33kV Sanis sub-station. In a separate press note, Namheu Khate Zeliang said the department was making all-out effort to restore power supply at the earliest. Therefore, the department has requested the public to bear with the inconvenience and extend cooperation during this period.
