Vehicular restriction along Kohima-Mao road

Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant, has issued an order regarding restrictions on vehicular movement due to damage in the abutment of the minor bridge at Ch.KM 200+950 on the Kohima-Mao road NH-2 near BPCL E-service station in Jakhama, caused by heavy rains.


The following restrictions are effective immediately and will remain until further notice– Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMV) beyond 12 tonnes are suspended from using the bridge. All types of vehicles are prohibited from crossing the bridge between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. HMVs less than 12 tonnes are restricted to crossing one vehicle at a time with a speed limit of 5 kmph. The alternate route for Light Motor Vehicles (LMV) would be via Keyake (BSF camp)-Chakhabama Military Station-Kezoma-Prayer Park (Kidima)-Kidima.
