Venue change for 7th Mokokchung Inter-Ward Football tournament

The Marepkong Youth Association (MYA), organiser of the 7th Mokokchung Inter-Ward Football Tournament (MIWFT) 2026 under the aegis of the Mokokchung District Football Association, has officially announced a change in venue for the upcoming tournament.
Originally scheduled to be held at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung, from March 24 to April 4, 2026, the tournament has been shifted to the football ground of Senayangba Government Higher Secondary School, Ungma, Mokokchung. The decision was necessitated by the announcement of the by-election under the 28 Koridang Assembly Constituency.
A total of 14 ward teams will be competing in this edition of the MIWFT. The Association expressed its gratitude to the school authorities for their cooperation in facilitating the tournament at short notice.
The inaugural programme will take place on March 24, at 11:00 AM at the new venue, with Deputy Chairperson of the Mokokchung Municipal Council, Lanuakum, attending as guest of honour.
Carrying the theme “Rise As One”, the tournament aims to foster unity and sportsmanship among the wards. MYA has urged all participating teams, officials and supporters to take note of the venue change and extend their cooperation for the smooth conduct of the event.
