
Gamadi Vidya Bharati School (GVBS) Dhansiripar set up a vermicompost plant in its school campus with the help and guidance of Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) Medziphema on July 21.
A press release by GVBS stated that, scientist of ICAR Medziphema Dr. Roben Singh guided the students and youth on how to prepare vermicompost. He also explained that the excellent step towards vermicomposting was to start with kitchen scrapes. He further explained that vermin compost was the end product of vermicomposting with earthworms to increase the speed of composting process and ensure higher quality compost.
The secretary of JSSN thanked him and joint director of ICAR, Medziphema for the scheme plant of vermicomposting unit in GVBS campus to educate the students, teachers and guardians under the mission of self-reliant Nagaland. Pankaj Sinha, G Dicoy Rongmei, Nikavi Chishi and teaching staff were present.
