Director Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Service Nagaland, Dr. I.P. Khala has formally inaugurated a veterinary dispensary post at Kezoma under Kohima district on March 27.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Khala said the post was inaugurated so that proper care could be delivered to domestic animals. The dispensary post should help give timely medication to the sickly and infirm and prevent deadly diseases as well. He said that setting up the dispensary post at village level was solely for the safety and health of animals, for the welfare of the people and for the betterment of their economy.
The director urged the villagers to utilize the dispensary with care and make it a domestic hub of animal care. He assured the people that the concerned department would send their staff equipped with proper medication on time and the Khuzama veterinary surgeon would be officially assigned to look after the dispensary at Kezoma.
Additional Director, Dr. Viral Yore highlighted the basic purpose of the dispensary and its benefits. The programme was chaired by Dr. Joseph M. Angami, pastor Kezoma Baptist Church, Medongol said the invocation prayer, Pusaro Zecho ex-council secretary spoke on behalf of the village and a vote of thanks was proposed by Zadekhweto Zecho VDB secretary. It may be mentioned that the dispensary has been built on a plot freely donated by Puhovi Tase.
