Vety deptt informs on vaccination against CSF

The department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services (AH&VS) has informed piggery farmers in the state to get their pigs (preferably breeding stock) vaccinated against Classical Swine Fever (CSF) as prevention before the onset of monsoon, at the nearest veterinary institute.
Stating that the disease was endemic in Nagaland, the department also informed all chief veterinary officers (CVOs) to collect the vaccines from the directorate office during working hours for the year 2021-22. Vaccination may be carried out in “ring or cluster” depending on the “occurrence and epidemiological” pattern of the disease in respective district, the department stated.
It also informed that due importance should be given at border areas and stock routes.
