Vianney Day observed at Jalukie

Catholic Church Nagaland celebrated the Feast of St. John Mary Vianny, the patron saint of the Thursday at St. Xaviers’ Church, Jalukie. Rt. Rev. Jose Mukala in his homily, during the Holy Celebration of the Eucharist shared with his fellow priests, sisters and faithful the meaning of the feast. In his message, he narrated the life of St. John Mary Vianney, who was a saint who gave new direction to pastoral life through his dedication to prayer, love of God and pastoral Charity towards people.
He urged to strive to break the bonds of sin to live in God and to promise oneself a new fidelity to Jesus Christ
Rev.Fr.Kuotsii Neisalhou Carlus, the president of the Diocesan Fraternity thanked the principal Rev.Fr.S.Kavas and his team for the warm welcome and enlightened the teachers and the students regarding the propose of such gathering of priests. In his message he said, that the mission of the priest was to lead people to God, and requested them to pray for the priests who are serving the people of Nagaland.
During the felicitation, Ms. Mercy Chawang, in her message appreciated the selfless service rendered by the priests for the people of Nagaland. Most of the priests work in a far-flung remotest part of the state where there were hardly any facilities. Despite all these hardships and difficulties, missionaries sacrificed their life to win souls for God. She also added that, like St. John Mary Vianney, one had to be one with the people sharing their joys and sorrows and helping in every possible ways especially in their spiritual growth and molding the minds of the future generation.
Rev.Fr. Mathew K. the Vicar general of the diocese and Rev. Fr. Chacko. K. and Rev. Fr. James animated and spoke on the occasion. The fraternity had anticipated celebration of 60th birth day of Bishop Jose Mukala during the programme. Over 50 priests from the diocese participated in the celebration.
