Vihoshe village council (VVC) under Aqahuto Area, Dhansripar sub-division, has informed that the village has resolved to remain under Chümoukedima district.
In a letter to the SDO (Civil) Dhansiripar sub-division, the village head GB Vihoshe Sumi, council chairman Atoshe X Chophy and secretary Er.Hokuto I Swu said the decision was made after observing that Vihoshe village was geographically located much closer to Chümoukedima district headquarters than Dimapur district headquarters.
They said that the villagers, who were mostly daily wage earners and farmers, would incur extra financial expenditure traveling to Dimapur district headquarters to get a document signed, which takes almost whole day.
However, since Chümoukedima was closer to the village, it would save time and money for the villagers.
The signatories said that the village after considering all the factors resolved to remain under Chümoukedima district. The signatories said the village was not against any organisation or administration, but the decision was taken for the convenience of the villagers.
