Village councils withdraw ultimatum

Moya and Salomi Village Councils which jointly served ultimatum to chief engineer, power department has withdrawn the same following “positive” response from the department. In a press statement, Moya village council chairman K. Tsalimong Yimchungru and Salomi village council chairman K. Kurakmong stated that the village councils have decided to withdraw the ultimatum as the department has “fulfilled the demands” of the joint councils with regard to “reservation and appointment” of grade 1V post  for the landowners. While expressing gratitude and appreciation to the chief engineer, the councils further assured co-operation to the department. It also expressed the hope that the department would continue to render good service to the public and uphold the agreement made between the government and the landowners.
