Villagers resolve to ensure timely completion of Pfutsero-Phek road

Representatives from 10 villages and localities located along the 2-lane road passing from Pfutsero to Phek via Sakraba, resolved to ensure successful completion of the said road. They also extended co-operation to the administration and the contractors by means of mitigating problems associated with developing the road.

In the meeting held at Sakraba village on February 19, several resolutions were unanimously passed by the representatives in the presence of DC Phek and his subordinates, CPO officials, CCPO officials, NHIDCL representatives, contractors of the two firms– KKB & Madhucon. The ten villages and localities represented were– Pfutsero town mission colony, Rikizu colony Pfutsero, and the following villages and one town; Porba, Sakraba, Pholami, Upper Khomi, Middle Khomi, Losami, Phek and Phek town. The representatives also resolved to urge concern authorities dispense justice to the public by paying damage compensation, adding that “those who deserve be compensated while those undeserving ones need not be entertained.”

It was also decided that villages and concerned colony authorities “take due responsibilities in locating suitable and requisite numbers of dumping sites under thier jurisdiction by collaborating with the administration and contractors.

The house also insisted on quality workmanship while cautioning that the prescribed specifications for 2-lane road should not be compromised. It further stated that it will monitor and insist timely completion of the project within the scheduled time.
