National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and the Nagaland State Cooperative Bank (NSCB) have jointly conducted financial literacy programme at old Panchayat Hall, Viphoma village in Chiephobozou block under Kohima district on February 10.
NSCB Branch Manager, Kohima Main Branch, Vizo Kere, and the AGM, NABARD, Bendang Aier, were the resource persons of the programme.
During the programme, seventy five participants were sensitised on various mission mode initiated by Government of India to bring greater financial inclusion and importance of financial discipline for developing long term relationship with bank.
The resource persons interacted with the participants on backward and forward linkages for undertaking Income Generating Activities (IGAs), linkage with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Kohima, Credit Linked Subsidy schemes of Government of India, access to regular banking service, Aadhar number and group approach through SHGs for credit linkage. Altogether, 25 applicants applied for savings bank account under Prime Minister Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY). The programme was conducted with support from Financial Inclusion Fund (FIF), managed by NABARD.
