VK Range Students’ Union (VKRSU) on Monday informed that it has decided to withdraw proposed indefinite highway bandh along NH -2 under its jurisdiction. In a press release, VKRSU president Toino K Wokhami and general secretary Abito K Sumi said the union during its general meeting with GBs, elders, unit representatives and public leaders of VK range had resolved to impose bandh along NH-2 starting March 11, 2016 against the failure of the health and family welfare (H&FW) department to provide doctor at primary health centre (PHC) at VK town. However, it said parliamentary secretary for IPR Khekaho Assumi on behalf of the government requested the union to postpone the bandh and assured to provide a doctor at the earliest. Therefore, the union said it has resolved to wait and keep the proposed bandh on hold till March 31.
