VKSA campaign covers nine villages in Peren on day 4

The fourth day of the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan (VKSA) campaign was held in nine villages across four blocks of Peren district—Athibung, Jalukie, Peren, and Tening on June 2, 2025. The campaign, led by teams from KVK Peren, ICAR Nagaland Centre, CAU Jalukie, and State Agriculture and Allied departments, aims to empower farmers with new agricultural schemes, technologies, and better farming practices for sustainability and food security.
During the campaign, farmers shared their experiences with kharif farming, challenges, and concerns while officials provided guidance on various agricultural topics.
In Athibung block, the programme was led by Agriculture Officer Neivah Hangsing and her team, engaging 171 farmers in discussions about pig and poultry diseases, crop insurance, farmer producer organizations (FPOs), and Rajamircha (King chilli) cultivation.
In Peren block, officials, including DAO Dr. Zaleigai Ndang and ACTO Dr. Patu K. Zeling, interacted with 169 farmers. They discussed ways to improve agricultural productivity and food security.
In Tening block, the programme was led by SDAO Samsangheile Nchang and Z. James Kikon, reaching 72 farmers. Topics included crop protection for King chilli farming, soil health cards, and animal vaccination.
In Jalukie block, SDAO Mapeuheile Ndang and her team guided 66 farmers on soil testing, crop protection in King chilli and turmeric farming, and preparations for the kharif season.
Farmer feedback was gathered across all four blocks, helping officials understand their needs and challenges while promoting better farming practices.
