
The three-day vocational education training for in-service teachers of Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksah Abhiyan (RMSA) under Samagra Shiksah Nagaland came to an end at Nagaland Secretariat on Friday. Similar training was also held at Youthnet office, UPHC Seikhazou and Dr. Neilhouzhu Kire Seikhazou D khel Kohima.
Principal secretary, School Education & SCERT, Menukhol John in his address congratulated the teachers for successfully completing the training programme and reminded them that textual knowledge alone was not enough but multi skills was required.
He encouraged the teachers to teach the students what they have learned in the training. The principal secretary also said that as part of the vocational education for the students, a government school in Peren district will be organising sale day of organic product grown by them on August 30.
The income generated would be utilised for the welfare of the students, he said and urged the teachers to emulate the same in their respective schools.
Also speaking in the programme, State mission director RMSA, Limawabang said that all tools and equipments of vocational education will be sent to school to make course more practical at school level. Youthnet founder, Hekhani Jakhalu urged the teachers to bring changes in the state.
Altogether 33 teachers from 18 schools attended the programme with resource persons from NSDC certified trainers from NIIT Dimapur, Youthnet, PHC and others.
During the practical session, the trainees were taken to BPO centre IT & C new directorate building Thizama road, Hotel Vivor, Godrej beautypreneur parlour, Godrej electronic and home appliances repair shop D block and V Mart shopping complex.
