
Three-day vocational training programme on “Scientific management practices for livestock & poultry and preparation of milk and meat products” is being organised by College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry (CVS&AH), Jalukie, from January 18 to 20.
A press release by CVS&AH assistant professor, Dr. Imtiwati stated that, training programme was for the Rongmai Baptist Church of Nagaland (RBAN) women participants. Dr. Gunjan Das, assoc. professor and head of Veterinary Medicine and Training Co-ordinator welcomed the faculty members and participants in the inaugural programme on January 18. He mentioned that rural women play a significant role in animal husbandry besides doing their household chores and training programme would be beneficial to them.
Dean, Dr. A. K. Sangwan as the chief guest of the programme emphasized on the role of women in livestock management and backyard poultry farming. He also stated that rural women were well versed with basic knowledge of animal production and management. Dean, also released training manual which would be beneficial to the beneficiaries and the people of Nagaland on scientific livestock production management.
Dr. Imtiwati, assistant professor, Livestock Production Management and Training Co-coordinator proposed the vote of thanks. A total of 15 rural women participated in the training programme.
