DIMAPUR: The monthly meeting of the District Planning & Development Board (DPDB), Meluri, was held on August 25 at the DB’s Court, DC’s Office, Meluri, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Phuleshe K. Yepthomi.
The meeting reviewed the minutes of the previous DPDB meeting and deliberated on various developmental and administrative matters concerning the district.
One of the major agenda items was sanitation and waste management, particularly the proper segregation and disposal of single use plastics and plastic bottles. DC stressed adherence to the new government guidelines on sanitation management and urged all departments to coordinate collectively towards maintaining cleanliness and effective waste management in the district.
The meeting also discussed a proposal for departmental visits to Government Higher Secondary Schools in Meluri district. It was suggested that one department would visit schools once a month to interact with students and share information about its programmes and services. The initiative aims to create greater awareness among students about government departments and their roles in public service.
Calling for stronger inter departmental coordination, the DC emphasised that collective efforts and active participation from all departments are essential for sustainable development and effective delivery of government programmes.
During the meeting, SDO, PWD (R&B), Khontsa Perry, delivered a PowerPoint presentation highlighting the activities and achievements of the department.
