Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Nagaland has informed that the voter information slip would not be allowed as proof of identity of voters in the ensuing general election to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, 2023.
In a public notice, CEO Nagaland, V Shashank Shekhar, stated that all electors, who have been issued Electors Photo Identity Card (EPIC), have to produce the EPIC for their identification at the polling station before casting their votes.
Those electors not able to produce EPIC could produce one of the following alternative photo ID documents: Aadhaar Card; MNREGA job card; passbooks with photo issued by bank/post office; Health Insurance Smart Card issued under the scheme of Ministry of Labour; driving licence; PAN Card; Smart Card issued by RGI under NPR; Indian Passport; Pension document with photo; Service ID Cards with photo issued to employees by Central/State Govt. PSUs/ Public Limited Companies; Official ID Cards issued to MPs/MLAs/ MLCs; and Unique Disability ID Card, M/o Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India.
