Nagaland has successfully conducted the general election to the to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly election 2023 on Monday, February 27. Casting od votes in most of the Polling Stations in the states have reportedly conducted peacefully.
MOKOKCHUNG: Polling in Mokokchung district passed off successfully without any major disruptions to polling or violence barring some sporadic incidents of scuffle and stone pelting in some polling stations between supporters of different parties.
Talking to Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Shashank Pratap Singh, he said that the total percentage of votes cast is around 80% in Mokokchung district though the final figure will be known later.
The DC added that a few polling stations were yet to complete polling due EVM malfunctioning. However, he added that some EVM machines have started to arrive the district headquarter. Further the DC expressed his profound gratitude to all the political parties, candidates, supporters, civil societies, media and the general public of Mokokchung district for the support and cooperation for free, fair, inducement free election. He further concluded by saying “you all are worthy of congratulations”. (Correspondent)
WOKHA: Casting of votes under 38th Wokha Assembly Constituency which began at 7 am in all the polling stations concluded at 4 pm. Voters in large number turned up in almost all the polling stations to exercise their franchise. Maximum security forces were deployed to ensure free, fair and peaceful conduct of the election. District Administration, Police, Observers and Sector Magistrates visited all the polling stations to ensure smooth conduct of election. The voting process was peaceful and no violence have been reported in any of the polling stations within the town area.
TIZIT: Polling for the general election to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly was conducted successfully at 41-Tizit A/C.
The 41-Tizit AC has 35 Polling Stations with 20618 electors comprising of 10543 male and 10075 female voters.
Candidates who contested from 41-Tizit AC included P. Paiwang Konyak (BJP), Tahwang Angh (NPF) and T. Thomas Konyak (INC).
MEDZIPHEMA: The general election to the 14th NLA election was conducted at 5 Ghaspani -II A/C beginning from 7 am. It has a total number of 29,163 electors, male 14561, female 14602 and 54 polling stations were used. The polling was violence free.
THONOKNYU: Casting of votes for the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly election was peacefully conducted at Govt. High School Thonoknyu polling station 15th, Thonoknyu Head Quarter, under Noklak district. Voting was conducted peacefully even at Thonoknyu village. No proxy voting was reported in any of the two polling stations.
7 Polling Stations manned by all women party under 9 Kohima Town A/C: During the general election to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly 2023, Seven Polling Stations were manned by all women polling party under 9 Kohima Town Assembly Constituency. Altogether there are 43 polling stations in the constituency with a total of 22,501 electors, 11,316 are Female and 11,185 Male. The polling commenced at 7 am and ended at 4 pm in all the polling stations.
