VWF celebrates National Youth Day

Along with the rest of the country, Vivekananda Welfare Foundation (VWF) on Saturday celebrated National Youth Day marking the 156th birthday of Swami Vivekananda at Missionaries of Charity, Mother Teresa Home, Dimapur.

The celebration was graced by professor K.P. Avikasit as the guest speaker, including many other eminent personalities.

Professor Avikasit, on the occasion, said that it was the youth that were instrumental in the progress of a nation. 

He said that it was time the youth of India raise their voice against those, he said, were trying to muzzle society and to dictate the expressions of others. He also narrated a brief history of the life of Vivekananda.

Earlier, legal advisor of VWF, Y.P. Gupta in his remark said that VWF has been doing a lot of charitable work in and around Dimapur since its inception. He was confident that the future would remember the organization for bringing positive changes to the city.

Chief patron, Dr. Dalia Bhattacharjee, Sister Bede of MTH and youth coordinator Pankaj Debnath also spoke on the occasion. The celebration also coincided with the 4th foundation day of VWF.
