VYO condemns hit and run incident

DIMAPUR: Viswema Youth Organisation (VYO) has vehemently condemned the brutal homicide of one of its bona fide members in an alleged hit and run incident at NH 2, Jakhama, on May 13 at around 7:30 a.m.
In a statement, VYO appreciated the prompt response of Kohima Police and its counterparts in apprehending the suspects involved.
The organisation, however, placed several demands before law enforcement authorities, including disclosure of the identities of the accused in accordance with legal procedure, a thorough and impartial investigation, and stringent punishment under relevant provisions of law without undue leniency.
VYO cautioned that failure to ensure timely and satisfactory action may compel the organisation to initiate measures as deemed necessary.
