Wangkhao college new academic building inaugurated

New academic building of Wangkhao Government College Mon was inaugurated on June 1 by director Higher Education, I. Alempokba as the chief guest. 
According to DIPR report the chief guest unveiled the plaque and declared the new academic building to be used. Chief guest in his speech said that, it was a day to rejoice as the college has its new academic building after 33 years of its establishment. He called upon dedicated students, professors and land owners to work together, to nurture and to transform to a very high technical learning educational centre. 
He urged the faculty to conceptualise, to change and bring innovative ideas to enrich the education and to create the new atmosphere so that no student will have a wish to study in other institution outside the district. 
Talking to the teaching staff he requested the vice principal to present clean and clear attendance of the teaching staff regardless of their cases. He also assured the people of Mon that soon there would be science stream introduced in the college.
The new academic building was constructed under SPA scheme 2010-2011, with W. Atick Manpurhu as the contractor. The contractor also donated 12 chairs for the staff in the new academic building. The inauguration programme was chaired by asst. professor, L. Temlei Shonpurhu, dedicatory prayer by Rev. J. Tenwang Konyak and VP, WGC, Tonwang Konyak gave the welcome address. C. Wanmei Konyak presented special song and assoc professor Dr. K.N. Nekha expressed words of gratitude.
