Western Angami Students’ Union biennial general conference on the theme ‘Each one, teach one’ concluded with Salhoutuonuo Kruse, Advisor of the apex body of Angami Women Organisation (Angamimiapfü Mechü Krotho, AMK), as the guest of honour at Terhuotsiese, Khonoma village, on January 13 evening.
Addressing the closing function, Kruse, who has decade old working experience with women organization, emphasized on gender equality and responsibility of the students. She said old age has gone and is now completely different in the present modern era with high technology and the new life of better understanding, peace and unity with the advent of Christianity.
She also said God created both men and women equal with different responsibility to work for brighter future and made human relationship to forgive one another. Kruse urged the students community to take up responsibility equally for both boys and girls.
Meanwhile, a new office bearers for the tenure 2015-2017 was elected led by Keviseto Rhisto as president, and Viwhekhono Vielie as general secretary.
In the Tati phfe competition, Khonoma Students’ Union bagged the first prize, while the second and third prizes were won by Mezoma Students’ Union and Sechü Zubza Students’ Union respectively. In the extempore speech, Kethoseno Medoze of Sechü Zubza Students’ Union, Kevikrüta Vilelie of Kiruphema Students’ Union and Zhiviseto Savino of Khonoma Students’ Union were declared winners respectively.
