Nagaland PHED Minister Tokheho Yepthomi during a marathon meeting with the Department’s officials on September 4 at Cimorb hotel Kohima decided that the department would have a uniform system of charging water fees w.e.f December 1, 2015 with water meter system for which he urged officials to make necessary preparations to facilitate conversion of all existing non metered connections into metered connections.
The meeting was also attended by secretary PHED Anenla S. Longchari , IAS , Chief Engineer PHED Er. Kevisekho Kruse and all senior officers of the Department down to Executive Engineer level.
The meeting also deliberated closely on vital issues confronting the Department such as the backlog of State share on CSS Schemes, doubtful cases of work charged employees, PHED land encroachment, measures for improvement of water supply & revenue collection in district HQs and ADC HQs, proper custody and utilization of pipes & tanks, funds transfer to WATSAN Committees, etc.
The meeting also directed the divisional officers to work out the minimum field employees required for effective maintenance of the existing water supply systems and revenue collection in all urban and revenue towns.
In the meeting, the minister also warned officers who are misusing the department’s properties. If anybody is found indulging in dishonest practices, prompt and appropriate action will be taken without bias, he warned.
