Watsü Mungdang flays alleged sexual harassment by IAS officer

DIMAPUR, JUN 10 (NPN)

Watsü Mungdang (WM) has expressed deep concern over the al-leged sexual harassment on female employee under the Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) by an IAS officer, Reny Wilfred,.
In a press release, WM president Tianaro and general secretary T. Narola Longchar lauded the Nagaland State Commissions for Women (NSWC) for taking cognizance of the matter and tak-ing initiative in lodging the police complaint.
WM also welcomed the suspension of Reny Wilfred by the state government following “crimi-nal investigation” into several allegations of sexual harassment.
The Mundang described sexual harassment as “deeply concerning, disturbing and condemnable act”, which violated human dignity and fundamental rights. WM stressed that such allegations were thoroughly investigated and addressed.
WM said allegation against IAS officer was grave and warranted a thorough investigation to en-sure justice and accountability for the victims. The Mundang demanded a fair and impartial investigation to determine the facts and take appropriate action.
Further, WM urged the government to ensure a complete and transparent disciplinary process in accordance with law and to take strict action against the perpetrator.
WM also demanded necessary support and protection to the victims and further warned, that it will not remain quiet if justice was not served to the victims.
