WC, NNPGs vows to identify drug kingpins

Expressing deep concern over the rise in drug use among the youth, the Working Committee (WC) of seven Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs) has affirmed to identify drug kingpins. WC, NNPGs through its media cell stated that a huge number of adolescent school and college-going students were into “sunflower drug” addiction. It stated that sunflower drug was available in every streetcorner and alley in Dimapur and all towns in Nagaland.

WC also said that in Nagaland and other Naga areas, thousands of parents were losing their children to drug addiction. WC said it strongly felt that “a nefarious network”— a policy to incapacitate and destroy the youth of Nagaland—was at work.

Therefore, WC said that seven NNPGs have “unanimously endorsed a strong measure” to deal with those remorselessly destroying Naga society. WC warned that national workers indulging in drug use or peddling would be dealt stringently. WC has appealed to all Tribal Hohos, apex civil societies and general public for support.
