WCMA, SAPO condemn alleged abuse of minor girl in Pfutsero

Western Chakhesang Mothers’ Association (WCMA) and Secheku Area Public Organization (SAPO) have strongly condemned the alleged abuse of an 11-year-old girl by her foster mother at Rukizu Colony, Pfutsero.
In separate statements, both organisations described the act as “barbaric, inhuman and a grave violation of child rights.” They expressed deep concern over the repeated physical and mental abuse reportedly inflicted on the minor and called the incident a disgrace to motherhood and a threat to society’s moral fabric.
SAPO president Welhipe Chiero and general secretary Tho-o Shupao urged the authorities to take immediate legal action and assured its full support to the victim and her family in seeking justice.
WCMA also demanded swift action under child protection laws and prayed for the girl’s speedy recovery—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The association termed the incident a wake-up call to strengthen protection for vulnerable children and reaffirmed its commitment to stand by the victim.
