WCSU expresses solidarity with teachers under RMSA

DIMAPUR

Western Chakhesang Students’ Union (WCSU) has expressed its solidarity with the dedicated educators and staff under Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA), who have been persistently demanding rightful implementation of the pay scale as per the court’s directive.
A press release by WCSU stated that despite clear ruling by the Court recognizing the legitimate entitlement of RMSA employees to be brought under regular pay scale structure, the delay in enforcement by concerned authorities was both unjust and unacceptable.
“These educators have served diligently for years, contributing to development of secondary education across state and country, often under challenging circumstances and without the basic parity their work deserves”, the Western Chakhesang Students’ Union added.
WCSU demanded the immediate implementation of pay scale as prescribed by court for all RMSA staff, without further delay or bureaucratic obstruction.
It further added that education cannot thrive when those who provide it were treated with indifference and inequality.
“Justice delayed is justice denied, not only for teachers, but for students who deserve a motivated and respected teaching community”, the release added.
The union also called upon the media, civil society organizations, and student bodies across the state to raise their voices in support of this just cause, pointing that the fight for fair treatment of educators is a fight for the future of education itself.
