Wokha District Consumer Rights Organisation (WDCRO) has initiated various steps to strengthen the markets for the interest and welfare of Wokha district consumers.
The decision to initiate steps was taken at its annual meeting-cum-picnic held on September 4 at Doyang.
Speaking at the meeting, WDCRO president Abel Enni said that the organisation will be checking unhealthy and unhygienic practice carried out by slaughter houses. He said that various unhygienic slaughterhouses and hotels will be intensively surveyed. In this regard, the organisation has invited the consumers of Wokha to approach the office of WDCRO in the event of any complaints.
At the meeting, the WDCRO affirmed to work for the interest of consumers and therefore sought cooperation and support from the citizens of Wokha district.
Meanwhile, WDCRO stated that after it took up the issue of shortage of LPG cooking gas, DC Wokha has directed all commercial establishments (hotels/restaurants) to use commercial gas rather than domestic gas.
