The Wokha District Football Association (WDFA) officially launched its team jersey for the upcoming 24th Dr. T. Ao Inter-District Football Trophy, set to take place in Kohima from August 1 to 12.
The unveiling ceremony was graced by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Renbomo Ezung, who commended the association for its sustained commitment to fostering football among the youth. Addressing the players, Ezung emphasized the importance of discipline, sportsmanship and unity, reminding them that they now represent the entire district and serve as role models for aspiring footballers.
“Though you come from various clubs and academies, today you stand as one team,” Ezung said. He encouraged players especially first-time district representatives to make the most of this experience. He also lauded WDFA’s efforts in assembling a skilled squad and voiced confidence in their performance at the tournament.
WDFA advisor and former president Edward Ngullie expressed heartfelt gratitude to the players for their dedication and extended thanks to all contributors including donors, departments, organizations, and individuals who supported the team’s preparation.
The event concluded with a prayer and jersey dedication led by Pastor Zuben Ngullie of Police Baptist Church, Wokha. The jersey sponsorship was provided by Gracious Event Planning, Wokha.
