An induction training for teachers in charge and Legal Literacy Clubs (LLCs) was organized by Wokha District Legal Services Authority (WDLSA) on May 26, at LTC Hall Wokha.
A short speech was delivered by chief team metamorphosis Thungdemo Kyong and panel lawyer Meribemo spoke on effective methods to establish LLCs, superintendent observation home Wobenthung Patton spoke on constitutional values. Yansathung Kikon, Emilo Kithan and Yansathung Jungio shared their experiences on behalf of the LLC
Altogether 78 LLC members, teachers in charge of five schools — GHSS Wokha, Springdale, CHMS, Little Angel’s School and Mt. Sinai School — and Alex Tsopoe PLV, WDLSA attended the programme.
The programme was chaired by retainer lawyer, Gracy Ezung and later vote of thanks was delivered by panel lawyer Shanchobeni P Lotha.
Also, a one-day induction training for teachers-in-charge and students of LLCs was organised on May 25 by Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) with Longleng District Legal Services Authority (LDSA), Zunheboto District Legal Services Authority (ZDLSA) and Phek District Legal Services Authority (PDLSA).
A press release from NSLSA stated that the training expounded on topics such as effective methods to establish legal literacy clubs and to ensure its performance- attendance of club members and teachers, documentation/reporting and record keeping, role of teachers-in-charge, individual activities of the LLC and academic credit for the students for the activities done.
The release stated that for LLC in community based engagement and its networking, the teachers-in-charge and students were taught to identify the needs of the community, community involvement and building trust and networking.
The induction training was attended by 84 students and five teachers-in-charge from four schools in Longleng, 56 students and five teachers-in-charge from five schools in Phek and 49 students and five teachers-in-charge from five schools in Zunheboto.
Certificates of participation were given by the NSLSA to all the participants present at the training.
